Privacy policy

What we collect, why, who sees it, and how to reach us about it. Plain words, no fine print.

1. Who we are

EclipseTone Productions is a music production studio in Montréal, Québec. The person in charge of protecting your personal information is Smail Laouchedi, Founder. You can reach him on WhatsApp or by phone at +1 438 466 8971.

2. What we collect

  • When you start a project: your name, email and WhatsApp number, how you prefer we contact you, what you need and your answer to the quick question, plus any note or link you add.
  • Nothing before you press send: what you type in the project form stays on your device until you press send.
  • When you message us: what you write on WhatsApp, by email or by phone.
  • When you work with us: the files you send (vocals, lyrics, demos, artwork), your artist name and your release details.
  • When you join our email list: your email address.
  • When you visit the site: anonymous visit counts (which pages, which buttons). No cookies and nothing that identifies you.

We don’t collect card numbers. Payments go through the payment service you choose, which handles your payment details.

3. Why we use it

  • To reply with your price, by WhatsApp message or call as you prefer, and answer your questions.
  • To make your music and deliver it.
  • To email you your written quote and a copy of your contract, as Québec law requires.
  • To send emails you signed up for. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To see which parts of the site help people and which confuse them.
  • To keep the records the law requires (invoices and taxes).

We don’t sell your information, and we never use your music or voice to train AI.

4. Cookies and what’s saved on your device

This site uses no cookies. No advertising, no tracking pixels, no profiling. That’s why there’s no cookie banner: there’s nothing to accept.

To make the site easier, your browser keeps a few things in its own storage (“local storage”). They stay on your device and are never sent to us:

  • Language and light or dark mode: so the site opens the way you left it.
  • Currency and today’s exchange rate: only if you choose US dollars or euros. The rate is kept for one day.
  • The project you started, and your name, email and number: so you don’t retype them. Nothing reaches us until you press send.

They stay until you clear your browser data. On a shared computer, clear it when you’re done.

Other services, only when you click: WhatsApp, Calendly, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube open in their own app or tab, under their own privacy policies and cookies. Nothing from them loads on our pages before you click.

If we ever add something that needs your consent, it will stay off until you say yes, and this section will say so first.

5. Who else sees it

Only the people working on your project, and the services we use to run the studio:

  • WhatsApp (Meta): messages and project requests.
  • Google: our request list (Google Sheets) and email.
  • MailerLite: our email list.
  • GoatCounter: anonymous visit counts.
  • Calendly: if you book a call (we fill in your name and email for you).
  • ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com): if you switch prices to US dollars or euros, your browser asks it for today’s exchange rates. It sees your IP address, nothing else.

Some of these services store data outside Québec, for example in the United States or Europe. We only use services that protect personal information properly.

6. How long we keep it

  • Project requests that don’t go ahead: deleted after 2 years.
  • Client records and invoices: kept as long as tax law requires (6 years in Québec).
  • Email list: until you unsubscribe.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to see the information we have about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Message us at +1 438 466 8971 and we’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

8. Keeping it safe

Only the people who need your information can see it. Our accounts use strong passwords and two-step login. If something ever goes wrong with your information, we’ll tell you.

9. Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page.
